PhD Topic
The PhD candidate will deal with the definition of control architectures for the Software-Defined Networking (SDN) dedicated to entanglement distribution. The project will transition quantum SDN into the area of the existing optical SDN and then scrutinize these architectures concerning their scalability and performance. Furthermore, simulation tools such as Mininet and NetSquid will be employed by the PhD candidate to create models of hybrid control planes and to measure the performance across different network topologies.
Secondments: TU Delft, Netherlands (architecture evaluation); British Telecommunications (BT), UK (performance optimization).
