PhD Topic
The capacity limits for quantum optical channels that co-exist with classical signals will be established. The project is going to create mathematical models for the combining of classical-quantum channels, receiver and coding designs will be optimized under the presence of noise, and the network capacities will be determined based on the cluster state models that have been used for this purpose. The research will focus on theoretical analysis, the mathematical modelling of quantum and classical signals, and performance simulation. It will also integrate socio-technical considerations for the fair and ethical use of the network.
Secondments: Sorbonne Université (SU), France (theoretical models); LOGI, Austria (hardware implementation challenges).
